Metaphorically speaking, the 2024 general election was an open letter from the American people to the neocons, telling them to get the hell out of Washington. Many voters made significant concessions on other political values for the sake of voting out warmongers. After all, Donald Trump was many things as president, but he did not put U.S. taxpayers on the hook for new wars.
Americans have come to expect interventionist policies from the Biden Admin, critics would say the current administration's foreign policy has been downright provocative. Consideration for de-escalation and minimizing violence has been scarce, to the point that a country roughly the same size and population as Texas has lost between one hundred thousand and potentially several hundred thousand lives.
However, this week, during the lame-duck period and within spitting distance of an administration that promises to negotiate peace and end U.S. involvement in the region, the Biden administration delivered a devastating blow to the prospects for peace, officially putting American lives at the mercy of Vladimir Putin.
The explosive farewell? The Biden Admin lifting a key ban on Ukraine using United States long-range missiles to strike deep into Russia. While the war-hungry White House has long been providing Ukraine with endless weapons and munitions for close-range combat, green-lighting the use of long-range missiles deeper into Russia is a reckless test of Russian patience.
